(August 8, 2014) ... For a sparkling made in the Cuvee Close (charmat) method, I have to admit to being a little leery about tasting it at 10 years of age.  But wasn't I pleasantly surprised when it proved to be a most interesting specimen.  There was no doubt you could tell it was aged and funky on the nose with aromas I don't normally associate with sparkling wine ... sweet orangeade smells filled the nose, which coincidentally matched the colour; palate had a sort of sweet and sour note, while once again not being typical was interesting ... Not sure this would ever be the first bottle I reached for to celebrate an occasion, but it sure proved to be a fascinatingly sippable wine ... For the first half hour anyway.
