This 28-acre property is planted two-thirds Pinot Noir and one-third Chardonnay – so they’re banking on 2 of Ontario’s better varietals – if they plant Gamay they’ll have a third (fingers crossed). This “Lillias” has a long back story but delivers on lots of sweet apple on both the nose and palate; palate shows off some crispness and lemon seed with a dry finish which comes across almost bitter and then there’s that texture from the extended lees contact – but the acidity is what makes this a lovely food friendly Chardonnay.
